Got ours two and-a-half years ago. Hmm very nice, apart from the silly melody played each time a load ends. And wow, all those space-aged lights and features. All this and steam washing too.
Wow quite some machine, right? WRONG!!
This machine developed a peculiar noise at 1 year and 11 months - just inside its guarantee. We got it repaired (rather slowly at two weeks) by LG. A new drum was fitted.
Five months later, the thing starts leaking from around the heater assembly. Oops no more warranty. never mind, we call LG's out-of-warranty service and they send the same guy around that did the drum. This time, it seems the fault is due to the seal on the old element not fitting back into the new drum they had supplied.
So it was the repairer's fault, right? WRONG!!
JTM contracts took £74.04 up front and the part cost £28. So, over a hundred quid repairing something they had buggered up before the warranty expired.
THIS TIME, IT TOOK THEM A MONTH. Yes, over four weeks until we had our LG machine working again.
Oh well, it ended well, right? WRONG!!
The next day, the same fault again. Heating element popped out and water everywhere.
So I'll get it mended again, right? WRONG!!
The machine is now in the yard, in the pouring rain, waiting to be dumped and then, hopefully, crushed.
I will NEVER buy LG again. The design may look great, but the design is flawed and the customer service useless.
